Batman Begins

Synopsis:

A young Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) travels to the Far East, where he's trained in the martial arts by Henri Ducard (Liam Neeson), a member of the mysterious League of Shadows. When Ducard reveals the League's true purpose -- the complete destruction of Gotham City -- Wayne returns to Gotham intent on cleaning up the city without resorting to murder. With the help of Alfred (Michael Caine), his loyal butler, and Lucius Fox (Morgan Freeman), a tech expert at Wayne Enterprises, Batman is born.

Movie Review:

"Batman Begins" is the 5th Batman movie and a reboot of the huge popular franchise so Warner Bros. gave Director, Christopher Nolan a shot at this one and he gave us a Batman movie which its audience deserved and needed. "Batman Begins" made its debut 12 years ago and is still one of the best superhero movies of all time. What makes this movie work is how realistic it is in terms of how a normal guy transforms into the Dark Knight Batman. Christian Bale gives one of the best portrayals of this character as he reveals a haunted and disturbed human being who was traumatized as a child when he witnesses his parents' murder. Christian Bale plays, both, the billionaire playboy by day and the unforgettable Dark Knight crime-fighter by night. The only problem about Christian Bale as Batman is that his voice gets too silly at times and it sounds raspy. Other than that one sticking point, his performance is flawlessly perfect. The supporting cast in this film adds quality acting and superb teamwork, like Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordan who finally does something in a movie; Michael Caine who plays Alfred is heartwarming and cares for Bruce; Liam Neeson who plays Ra a Gul, the villain is great and you kind of get why he is doing evil things. The second and minor villain of the movie is Scarecrow played by Cillian Murphy who is good but wasted. He hardly does anything but get kicked around by Batman. The action in this movie is well filmed and entertaining, especially, the Batmobile chase close to the third act of the movie. However, there are a few problems with the movie— some shaky camera moments when Batman is fighting hand to hand combat—Katie Holmes is not good in her role and just stares in complete confusion and is a damsel in distress the entire time—and the plan to hold the city of Gotham doesn't make a lot of sense so there are some plot issues. '' Batman Begins" is a great original story and is one of my favorite superhero movies growing up. With great acting, exciting, heart-pumping action scenes, and my sentimental childhood favorite, you don't want to miss out seeing " Batman Begins". I highly recommend it. I am giving "Batman Begins" a 4 out of 5 stars.
