Movie Review:

"Alien" is the first movie in this science fiction franchise and was directed by Ridley Scott. This is the movie that started it all back in 1979 and still holds up today as a science fiction horror masterpiece. Sigourney Weaver plays Ripley, who is the first strong female character in a horror film. She proves that she knows how to take care of herself. The supporting cast does its job but is not really memorable. This is a typical Ridley Scott film—images are everything. Under his direction, "Alien" will transform you into this fascinating science fiction world with great jump scares and terrifying images. The famous scene that involves the dying character coming out of the Alien's chest shows you that the design and the look of the xenomorph is frightening and is one of the best created Aliens in horror movie history. With great direction and scenery, compelling and well written characters that you actually care about, "Alien" is a thrilling, suspenseful and scary movie that will give you nightmares. It is still one of my favorite science fiction horror movies of all time. I am giving "Alien" a 5 out of 5 stars.
