Movie Review:

"Wonder Woman" is the 4th film of the DC’s Cinematic Universe and the first all-female led superhero film and it might be one of the best original stories of an comic book film ever. I loved almost every second of this movie—it is entertaining, emotional, and heartwarming and in my opinion one of the best Warner Brothers/DC movies since "The Dark Knight". Petty Jenkins directs this movie flawlessly with pops of color and brightly lit and feel-good scenes not like the typical dark superhero movies; you can tell that she took some inspiration from Richard Donnor’s Superman. Gal Gadot was perfect as Wonder Woman. She was charismatic and physically fit, but the writers made her have flaws that you could relate to. Chris Pine steals the show as Steve Trevor the pilot that Wonder Woman saves in the beginning of the movie and then teams up with to stop a World War. Pine's character is witty and funny and delivers the best lines throughout the film. Gadot and Pine shared great on screen chemistry with each other and their interactions and relationship appeared genuine. This movie had some incredible comedic moments featuring Diana the Princess /Wonder Woman being a fish out of water in the real world; it was hilarious to see how she interacted with her new surroundings. The supporting actors were well cast like Robin Wright who plays Antiope, Diana’s aunt and trainer. Wright plays the greatest warrior on the island and performed some of the best slow motion action scenes in the whole movie. Another standout was Connie Nielsen who played Hippolya, Diana’s mother; her scenes were short but really emotional. This movie was filled with nail-biting action scenes, and one of the most memorable comic book movie action scenes I've seen in a long time was the trench scene in which Wonder Woman had to fight her way into the battlefield and journey across miles of open land. All the credit for the success of this movie goes to director, Petty Jenkins who really gets this character. She had a unique way of blending humor and emotion into scenes that felt natural and familiar to the characters. The only negative thing I can say about this movie is that the villains played by Danny Huston and Elena Anaya weren’t interesting. They lacked charisma and were too cartoonish; they were the weakest part of movie. Also, there was a twist revealed but it felt rushed. I believe "Wonder Woman" was the superhero movie that was long overdue. "Wonder Woman" had it all—strong female characters, strong male characters, action scenes, and funny with lots of heart—a blast from start to finish. I am giving "Wonder Woman" a 4 out of 5 stars.
