Spider-man 3

Synopsis:

Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) and M.J. (Kirsten Dunst) seem to finally be on the right track in their complicated relationship, but trouble looms for the superhero and his lover. Peter's Spider-Man suit turns black and takes control of him, not only giving Peter enhanced power but also bringing out the dark side of his personality. Movie Review:

"Spider-Man 3" is the third movie in the Spider-Man franchise and the last one in the Sam Raimi universe and it might be one of the worst superhero films I have ever seen. This movie suffers from too many plot points, too many villains, and too many bad performances from an otherwise talented cast. There are a few okay moments in this film including some action scenes that are entertaining and fun to watch. The only great scene in the movie that stands out is when Spider-Man gets the black suit and fights Sandman; it is a very personal and emotional scene. Also, the look of Harry Osborne’s new Green Goblin suit called 'New Goblin' is a cool design. What this movie suffers from is production problems and a badly written script crammed with too many villains, including Venom, Sandman and New Goblin, that didn’t blend well. Tobey Maguire starred as Peter Parker/Spider-Man for the third time; unfortunately, he seemed like he was just sleep walking in this one. I always liked Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man but he disappointed me with this performance. Again, Peter Parker and M.J. are a couple in this movie and while their chemistry worked in the last movie, in this one it wasn’t there—a result of bad acting and a bad script. To be honest, I got bored watching the oblivious-Peter and crybaby-Mary Jane throughout the entire film. The newcomers to the cast are Bryce Dallas Howard as Gwen Stacy, the third character in a love triangle with Peter and M.J. The story fell flat and seemed awkward. Thankfully, Howard wasn’t in the movie that long because her performance was terrible. Topher Grace plays Eddie Broke, Jr. who becomes the villain, Venom at the end of the movie. His performance is also terrible and seems like he was miscast for this character as he tries to be funny then mean all at the same time. The only redeemable cast member was J.K Simmons as J .Jonah Jameson who is hilariously funny. The scene that pushed me over the edge was the dance scene in the nightclub where Peter Parker dances for Mary Jane. I thought for a moment I was watching "Saturday Night Fever"—so embarrassing. I loved the first two Spider-Man films, but "Spider-Man 3" is a big disappointment from beginning to end because of an overcrowding of villains, inadequate plots, and at times bad acting. I am giving "Spider-Man 3" a 1 out of 5 stars.
