Movie Review:

I remember when I was a young boy watching and loving the animated series Transformers and playing with the endless line of transformer toys, and I can happily say that Michael Bay has made a movie that is a fun entertaining blockbuster that pleases die hard Transformers fans. The movie "Transformers" finds a young man named Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) who buys a car that happens to be a transformer and then he gets caught up between an alien war of the Autobots and the Decepticons. These aliens think the boy can lead them to an energon force known as the allspatrk. The Autobots want to destroy it but the Decepticons want to use the power to create an army of machines to wipe out te human race. What I like about the film is the relationship between Sam and Bumblebee; the two characters are relatable and it showed the deep friendship between man and machine. The action in the film is fast and worthy of your typical "popcorn entertainment" especially the final battle between the Autobots and Decepticons, but sometimes the camera images are shaky and you don't know what is happening in some scenes. The best feature of this movie is the visual effects; the robots look so real that they are mesmerizing to the eye. This movie does have some negatives — some characters aren't really likeable — Mikala played by Megan Fox was just bland and played the 'cliché' damsel in distress. The Military subplots are boring and unnecessary and I just wanted it to go back to the Transformers storyline. "Transformers" is nothing more than an entertaining blockbuster and will please diehard Transformers fans like myself. I am giving this film a 3 out of 5 Stars.
