The Amazing Spider-man 2

Snyopsiss:

Confident in his powers as Spider-Man, Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield) embraces his new role as a hero and spends time with Gwen Stacy (Emma Stone) in between protecting New York from criminals. However, his greatest battle yet is about to begin. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront an enemy far more powerful than he is. And when his old friend Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan) returns, Peter comes to realize that all his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.

Movie Review:

"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is the sequel to the "Amazing Spider-Man", and once again Sony pictures dropped the ball and made another boring convoluted and bloated film. This movie suffers from a lot of studio interference to pressure the fast release of three spin-off films, but they forgot to slow down and make a quality movie. Andrew Garfield is back as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and for the second time delivers a worthy performance as this character as he balances a funny and serious Peter/Spider-Man. Emma Stone is also really good as Gwen Stacy. Her chemistry alongside Garfield is off the charts and is one of the best aspects of this movie. What the movie really lacks is a continuous, thought-out theme. It shifts in tone from a dark movie to a Saturday morning cartoon, without warning, so the audience is confused at times whether you are watching a comedy or a gloomy action movie. The main villain, Electro, played by Jamie Fox just doesn't work as this character. His performance was over the top and not in a good way—I can only compare him to Jim Carey's performance as the Riddler in "Batman Forever". Dane DeHann plays Harry Osborne, Peter's longtime friend. I liked him in this movie until he becomes the Green Goblin; he too, overacted and felt cartoony. This movie is full of subplots that are over-extended and forced on the audience, and have no substance, like Peter's relationship with Gwen Stacy, the mystery surrounding his parents, and lots of villains with no purpose—I didn't care about any of them. Some of the action scenes were well directed, especially, the final showdown with Electro is entertaining and fun to watch and his fight with Green Goblin was thrilling but short and it felt rushed so they could move on and kill Gwen Stacy. The movie did have some emotional scenes like Gwen Stacy's death. The death scenes were very sad and made the audience feel Peter Parker's pain. However, the ending was disappointing since watching the trailer spoiled it for me. "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" is a rushed, poorly written film that jumps from one topic to another with no real direction. I am giving "The Amazing Spider-Man 2 out of 5 stars.
