Transformers Age of Extinction

Synopsis:

After an epic battle, a great city lies in ruins, but the Earth itself is saved. As humanity begins to pick up the pieces, a shadowy group emerges to try to take control of history. Meanwhile, an ancient and powerful new menace sets its sights on Earth. A new group of humans, led by Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg), helps Optimus Prime (Peter Cullen) and the Autobots rise up to meet their most fearsome challenge yet: a worldwide war of good versus evil.

Movie Review:

"Transformers Age of Extinction" is the fourth "Transformers" movie in this franchise. This movie is the worst Transformers movie since the second one. It seems like every time they put out another sequel, it gets worse and worse. For some reason, I enjoyed "Transformers" 1 and 3 and I hated 2 and 4. The problem with this movie is the characters; they have no likeable personality traits that draw you in and no story that makes you want to know or care about them. Mark Wahlberg plays the main hero of this movie, Cade Yeager, an inventor. Wahlberg never assimilates himself to this character just plays himself through the entire film. His daughter, played by Nicole Peltz, might be beautiful but sadly cannot act and gives a terrible performance. And the same goes for Jack Reynor who plays her boyfriend; his character is whiney and boisterous, and loses his Irish accent in the middle of the movie. Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer and Titus Wellivever who play the human villains are all over dramatic and misunderstood characters— I have to question these supporting roles…who are responsible for this cast? The only character worth praising was Lucas played by T.J. Millar. He has some funny moments but is only in the film for 10 minutes and then he dies. One of the only compliments that I can give all of the Transformer" movies is they have some exciting action scenes that involve the Autobots, like Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, but they do not have much screen time. The CGI and the special effects look realistic and imaginative because Michael Bay is great with that kind of filmmaking. However, the problem with Michael Bay is he doesn't know how to convey a good story that flows and develops from beginning to end. He needs to lose the cringe worthy sex humor that doesn't work and falls flat, and focus on a decent plotline that doesn't drag on for 2 hours and 45 minutes. This movie has bad acting, terrible humor, a poorly written script, and is way too long. Unless you are like me and need to watch all the movie sequels, don't waste your time with this one. I am giving "Transformers Age of Extinction" a 1 out of 5 stars.
