suicide Squad

Synopsis: Figuring they're all expendable, a U.S. intelligence officer decides to assemble a team of dangerous, incarcerated supervillains for a top-secret mission. Now armed with government weapons, Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Captain Boomerang, Killer Croc and other despicable inmates must learn to work together. Dubbed Task Force X, the criminals unite to battle a mysterious and powerful entity, while the diabolical Joker (Jared Leto) launches an evil agenda of his own.

Movie Review: "Suicide Squad" is the 3rd movie in the DC expanded universe. Warner Brothers tries to give us a fun and light hearted movie instead of the dark tone in "Batman Vs Superman", but it falls short. The movie contains some great character moments but for the most part, it is bogged down by a dull script and an all too familiar plot that we have seen in previous comic book films. After the tragic death of Superman, the U.S. government and Amanda Waller (Viola Davis) decide to assemble a team of incarcerated supervillains for a top-secret mission with Deadshot ( Will Smith), Harley Quinn ( Margot Robbie), Captain Boomerang ( Jai Courtney) and Killer Croc ( Adewale Akinnuoy- Agaje). They must unite to battle a mysterious and powerful entity, while the diabolical Joker (Jared Leto) launches an evil agenda of his own. The characters are the best part of this movie because they are all villains and I enjoyed watching them work together as a team fighting the minions. One of the best action scenes in this movie is when Deadshot wipes out all the minions on the street with his great marksman skills killing them all at once; it was awesome and thrilling moment in this movie. My favorite characters in this movie are Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) and Deadshot (Will Smith). Margot Robbie plays Harley Quinn so well --she was both crazy and funny. And Will Smith was so charismatic as the marksman and assassin Deasdshot. The chemistry that Smith and Robbie shared stole the entire movie. Let's talk about the Joker played by Jared Leto. I liked the Leto's portrayal of this character. He tried to do something different with the Joker than Heath Ledger; he wanted to make it his own, unfortunately he didn't have much screen time to win fans over. The problem with this movie is that the story completely falls apart around the time that the villain the Enchantress (Cara Delevingne) is introduced. Her character was a cliché type comic book villain and the worst villain I have seen in years with a bad image and weapon choice that looked as if she was dancing around in all her scenes---just hilarious. Surprisingly, I enjoyed "Suicide Squad" even though the entire film is a mess but for some unexplained reason, I was entertained by this group of characters and the actors who played them. I am giving "Suicide Squad" a 2 out of 5 stars.
