Kingsman The Golden Circle

Synopsis:

With their headquarters destroyed and the world held hostage, members of Kingsman find new allies when they discover a spy organization in the United States known as Statesman. In an adventure that tests their strength and wits, the elite secret agents from both sides of the pond band together to battle a ruthless enemy and save the day, something that's becoming a bit of a habit for Eggsy.

Movie Review:

"Kingsman the Golden Circle" is the sequel to the suspenseful spy comedy called "Kingsman the Secret Service" and once again is directed by Matthew Vaughn who delivers a solid and fun sequel to the original film which I loved. Most of the original cast is back including Colin Firth, Mark Strong and Taron Egerton and are all fantastic. Once again, Taron Egerton proves he is one of the best leading men in Hollywood. He portrays his character with charm, humor and balance between his personal life and being a Kingsman. Colin Firth returns as Harry Hart in this film even though he was shot in the end of the last movie. It is explained how he is alive and it kind of worked for me but it felt like a cop out; however, it was great to see Harry Hart back and being an awesome super spy again. Mark strong is back as Merlin and this time he has a bigger role to play since he is the heart and soul of the movie. He does have the most comedic parts of the movie. The action in this movie does not disappoint starting with the first 10 minutes of the film that involves exciting car chases and lots of shootouts from beginning to end. The new comers to the cast are Channing Tatum as Agent TeQuilla who just had fun in the role but isn't in many scenes and I would like to see him back in future sequels. Halle Berry plays the tech supervisor Ginger Ale and is very appealing as the character but once again she is not really in too many scenes. Pedro Pascal plays Agent Whiskey and has the most screen time of the Statesmen and is one of the most exciting characters in the movie as well as being great in his action scenes. Finally, Jeff Bridges plays Agent Champagne, the head of the Statesmen and does his usual "Jeff Bridges" thing which makes him always great. What I love most about this movie is all the Statesmen storylines with their different styles of gadgets and looks of the Kingsman. Julianne Moore plays the villain this time around named Poppy who is a big drug kingpin who will hold the world hostage unless the President of the United States make all drugs legal — yeah, it's kind of ridicules, but it is a silly movie. Julianne Moore was having fun in the role but sometimes she just felt like a cartoon character. Elton John makes a hilarious cameo as himself and has one of the funniest parts of the film. This movie is a little overstuffed with too many subplots that were useless and is little too long. Also, there are some big plot holes that made no sense. But my positives outweigh the negatives and I can't deny that I had lot of fun in the theatre watching this film. "Kingsman the Golden Circle" is solid entertainment; a funny, action packed sequel with a few flaws and is not as great as its predecessor. I am giving "Kingsman the Golden Circle" a 3 out of 5 stars.
