Baywatch

Synopsis: When a dangerous crime wave hits the beach, the legendary Mitch Buchannon leads his elite squad of lifeguards on a mission to prove that you don't have to wear a badge to save the bay. Joined by a trio of hotshot recruits, including former Olympian Matt Brody, they ditch the surf and go deep under cover to take down a ruthless businesswoman whose devious plans threaten the future of the bay.

Movie Review:

"Baywatch" is a comedy about the old 80s television show where lifeguards attempt to do what 21 Jump Street did so well, but disappointingly it failed. The most important thing for a comedy is to make the audience laugh and this one did not. There are a few moments that made me chuckle like the back and forth between The Rock and Zach Efron; the only thing that was funny in this movie. I can't blame the cast because they had great chemistry; the problem was the poorly written script that lacked story and humor — many lines came off as just offensive crass jokes that is a poor excuse for real humor. The villain, Victoria Leeds played by Priyanka Chopra who I am a fan of is not very good as this character. She tries to be funny but she just can't pull it off. She really seemed uncomfortable playing this role. Most of the CGI felt like I was watching a video game with action scenes that were boring and uneventful. "Baywatch" was another comedy that I was looking forward but turned out to be a comedy in which the jokes were flat, the plot lacked creativity and the action was not exciting. This movie proves that some T.V. shows should not be made into a movie. I am giving "Baywatch" a 2out of 5 stars.
