Deadpool

Synopsis: Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) is a former Special Forces operative who now works as a mercenary. His world comes crashing down when evil scientist Ajax (Ed Skrein) tortures, disfigures and transforms him into Deadpool. The rogue experiment leaves Deadpool with accelerated healing powers and a twisted sense of humor. With help from mutant allies Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), Deadpool uses his new skills to hunt down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Movie Review:

"Deadpool" is a character that we have been waiting for to get his first film and I can happily say that it is one of the funniest comic book movies I have seen in a long time. It had me laughing from the beginning until it ended. This movie finds Wade Wilson a fast talking mercenary with a morbid sense of humor subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers and a quest for revenge of the man who nearly destroyed his life. Ryan Reynolds was born to play the character of Deadpool; he was funny and charismatic as the mercenary with the mouth. I believe this is the best performance of his career. What works well in this movie is the relationship between Wade Wilson/ Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) and Vanessa (Morena Baccarin). Usually in comic book movies, relationships between the main leads are boring, but these two characters share similar backgrounds and are interesting together. They have great chemistry and are a realistic couple. The action in this movie is fast pace, entertaining, well- choreographed and fun to watch, especially the highway shootout scene in the beginning of the movie. This scene is well directed with amazing slow motion shots with great camera tricks the director uses to make his action shots very unique. T.J. Miller plays Weasel who is Wade's best friend. He stole every scene with his comedic lines. I loved Deadpool and Weasle's comedy dynamic they shared in every scene. The villain in this movie is Ajax (Ed Skrein) who was an intimidating, psychotic and over the top character that worked for this film since the entire movie is so cartoonish. What I loved about this movie most of all has to be when Deadpool breaks the 4th wall. It was hilarious, crazy and weird just like Deadpool's character. "Deadpool" is a funny, action packed and entertaining comic book movie. I can't wait to see what they do next in this sequel. I am giving "Deadpool" a 5/5 stars.
