With the Berlin Wall about to fall, she travels into the heart of the city to retrieve a priceless dossier and take down a ruthless espionage ring. Once there, she teams up with an embedded station chief to navigate her way through the deadliest game of spies.

Movie Review: "Atomic Blonde" is an espionage spy action movie directed by David Leitch. Leitch was one of the directors who made "John Wick", a movie that I loved. He left the John Wick franchise to work on this movie and I can say that this one has some enjoyable action sequences but suffers from bad pacing and a 'clichéd' narrative that we have seen in spy movies before. "Atomic Blond" takes place in 1988 and it follows MI6 Agent Lorraine Broughton who is sent to Berlin during the Cold War to investigate the murder of a fellow agent and recover a missing list of double agents. What this movie does well is the amazing action sequences that are well- choreographed and action packed. The audience will love watching Charlize Theron as she does 90% of her own stunts and you can tell that she really committed herself to this role. My favorite action scene in this entire movie and probably the best fight scene I've seen all year has to be the stairway fight scene; the entire sequence was well shot, edited and choreographed perfectly. The problem with this movie isn't the action but rather the story that is a mess. The film flashes from present to past in a confusing way which at times is hard to follow and many of the scenes seem repetitive and slow moving. The other problem that I have is the music — it is overused and I thought I was watching a music video instead of an action film. All in all, I really enjoyed this movie even though it has a poorly written plot. It's just your average, rainy day fun movie that you don't have to think too much to watch and enjoy. With a great performance from Charlize Theron and exciting action scenes, I am giving "Atomic Blond" a 3 out of 5 stars.
