Movie Review:

"IT" is directed by Andre's Muschietti and is a remake based on the popular Stephen King book of the same name. I will tell you that I am not the biggest horror fan, but I absolutely loved this modern day horror film. The thing that I enjoyed most about this movie is that it is not just your typical horror film; it is also a coming of age movie about these seven kids who need to face their fears. These characters are compelling and complex as they deal with family problems unlike most annoying horror film characters that I've seen. The main character of this movie is Bill who lost his younger brother a year ago from the terrifying Pennywise played by Bill Skarsgard. Skarsgard portrays Bill in such a way that you can relate to him, and he also has a bad speech impediment which makes you root for him. The entire main cast playing all the kids is fantastic in their roles. The stand out is Richie played by Finn Wolfhard; he is the comic relief of this movie and he infuriates all the characters by being the smart mouth of the group with no filter. In my opinion what Andres Muschietti captured perfectly is the creepy imagery and the jump scares that will frighten you to death. Pennywise is the monster or the villain played by Bill Skarsgard who is terrifying in the opening, iconic scene and he will haunt you until the ending credits. I don't have much to criticize about this film except that I was disappointed by the trailer spoilers that ruined certain scary scenes and some pacing issues. This is an outstanding scary h relatable characters, a terrifying villain, funny character moments and a true coming of age movie. "IT" is not just a great horror film, it's a great movie. I am giving "IT" a 4 out of 5 stars.
