Incredibles II

Synopsis: Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in "Incredibles 2" – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of "normal" life. It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.

Movie review: "Incredibles 2" is the sequel to the 2004 hit animated movie "The Incredibles". It is hard to believe that we had to wait 14 years for another Incredibles movie, but I can happily say it was worth the wait. This movie is probably one of the best sequels I have seen. It was funny, emotional, and action packed. "Incredibles 2" takes place right where we left off from the first one and this one finds Helen in the spotlight while Bob is left to take care of the kids at home with Violet and Dash. When a new super villain hatches a dangerous plot, the family and Frozone must find a way to work together again. What I loved about this movie is that you are still attached to the characters that were introduced to in the first film. All of the characters have real life issues they have to face. Bob (Craig T. Nelson) tries to be a better father to his kids, his wife, Dash (Huck Milner) is struggling with homework and school, and Violet (Sarah Vowell) is having relationship problems. The reason why this works is that we can all identify with these human issues as they are brought to life through animated characters who are so realistic the audience forgets it is animation. My favorite characters are Jack-Jack and Edna Mode (Brad Bird); they stole the show every time they were on screen, especially when Jack-Jack couldn't control his powers. The action in this movie is really well done. When Elastic girl (Helen Hunt) saves a train filled with people, this entire sequence is fast paced and exciting to watch. In my opinion, the animation in this movie is one of the best in any Pixar movie -- each character looks so realistic and moves effortlessly from slow motion to action. Brad Bird did a great job directing this movie, except he neglected to focus on the villain as in the first "Incredibles", but instead focused on the heroes; therefore, creating a weak and predictable baddie. "Incredibles 2" is not just my favorite movie of the summer, it is one of my favorite movies of the year, and Pixar has crafted a movie that both kids and adults can enjoy and have good time with. I absolutely loved this film. I am giving "Incredibles 2" a 5 out of 5 stars.
