Ant- Man and The Wasp

Approached by Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym, Lang must once again don the Ant-Man suit and fight alongside the Wasp. The urgent mission soon leads to secret revelations from the past as the dynamic duo finds itself in an epic battle against a powerful new enemy.

Movie review: "Ant-Man and the Wasp" is the 20th film in the MCU and is the second movie in the Ant-Man franchise and is once again directed by Peyton Reed. This movie is funny and action packed but it is not as great as the first "Ant-Man" and has some story telling issues, but it is still a good Marvel movie. This sequel finds Scott Lang grappling with the consequences of both a superhero and a father. As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he's confronted by Hope Van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside the Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past. The chemistry between Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) is endearing and witty. Along with Tony and Pepper, they are probably one of the best couples in the MCU. I loved the relationship between Scott and his daughter Cassie (Abby Ryder Forston); the scenes were emotional, lovable, and sweet to watch -- probably the strongest scenes in the movie. The action once again is well choreographed and engaging like the Wasp fighting goons. Wasp steals every scene she is in and I can't wait to see her in future movies. My favorite character has to be Scott's best friend Louise (Michael Pena) who is hilarious and over-the-top in a good way just like he was in the first one. This move isn't perfect and it definitely has some issues. There was not a captivating villain in this movie, instead Ghost is weak and forced into the plot as they focused more on Ant-Man and the Wasp. The second villain is Sonny Burch (Walton Goggins), an unforgettable villain in the MCU, but he wasn't even needed in this movie. Waltom Goggins is a fantastic actor and he just felt wasted. Some humor in the film didn't work, especially the humor involved with the character Jimmy Woo (Randall Park), the FBI agent who is Scott's probation officer. Every time he said a joke, it fell flat and it took me out of the comic book film to a bad T.V. sitcom. If you like the Ant-Man franchise, than go see "Ant-Man and the Wasp". It will make you laugh and you will see some great action scenes. I am giving "Ant-Man and the Wasp" a 3 out of 5 stars.
