Movie Review:

"Mission Impossible Fallout" is the newest film in the Mission Impossible franchise and the 6th one. Again, this movie is directed by Christopher Mcquarrie and it is the first time in a franchise a director has finally come back to direct more than one film. I was very excited for this movie because I loved "Rogue Nation" and I am happy to say that "Fallout" might be the best Mission yet and one of the best action films I have seen since "Mad Max Fury Road" – it's that good. What makes this film stand out from the rest of the series is the balance between the personal story of Ethan Hunt and the heart stopping intense action set pieces that will leave you mesmerized. Tom Cruise plays Ethan Hunt for the 6th time and it has been almost 22 years since he played this character but that doesn't stop Tom Cruise from being awesome in this movie. Personally, I don't think Tom Cruise ages. He is unstoppable in the action scenes, of course, but he is also good with his one on one conversation scenes which make his performance even more special and you get to see what a talented actor he really is. I can't say enough that the story has more twists and turns just like the first film in the series so you have to really pay attention to this one. There are some returning characters like Benji Dunn and Luthor Stickell, played by Simon Pegg and Ving Rames, and both bring the sense of humor to the movie and it was really funny and felt necessary to the plot of the film. Also returning is Rebecca Ferguson as MI6 agent Ilsa Fraust who holds her own and I was glad to see a strong female character for a change. Alec Baldwin plays Secretary Alan Hunly, head of the IMF. Unfortunately, Baldwin is not really in the film much, but it was fun to see him back. Sean Harris returns as Soloman Lane, the villain from the previous film, and once again, he is creepy as ever and kind of brutal in this film. In my opinion, he is a much better villain this time around. New comers to the cast are Angela Bassett who plays the director of the CIA and wasn't really in the film that long. The standouts of the film were: Vanessa Kirby who plays the White Widow; every scene she was in she stood out and made an impression. I wish she was in more scenes though -- And Henry Cavill who plays August Walker, a CIA assassin who has his own agenda. His rivalry and interactions with Ethan Hunt were the best parts of the film and I loved every minute watching these two on screen. All of the action in this film was intense. Some of my favorites action scenes were bathroom fight scene (my favorite), the motorcycle chase scene, a foot chase scene with Ethan Hunt, and a helicopter chase scene (the last fifteen minutes of the film) which was so exhilarating and intense that my heart was pounding with excitement. I have to give credit to Director, Christopher Mcquarrie. His direction of every action scene felt seamless and made sense for the story, and there was no shaky camera nonsense which I loved. The only small nitpick I have was they used some story elements from the previous films which seemed repetitive. I loved this film from beginning to end. "Mission Impossible Fallout" is one of the best action films I have ever seen and the best movie of the summer so far with its exciting action scenes, emotional storyline, and great characters moments. "Mission Impossible Fallout" is a must see. I am giving "Mission Impossible Fallout" a 5 out of 5 stars.
