Star Wars Episode II Attack of The Clones

Synopsis: Set ten years after the events of "The Phantom Menace," the Republic continues to be mired in strife and chaos. A separatist movement encompassing hundreds of planets and powerful corporate alliances poses new threats to the galaxy that even the Jedi cannot stem. These moves, long planned by an as yet unrevealed and powerful force, lead to the beginning of the Clone Wars -- and the beginning of the end of the Republic.

Spoiler review: "Star Wars Episode II" Is the 5th Star Wars movie in the franchise and it is the second movie of the prequel trilogy. I believe it is one of the weakest installments, but it does contain some entertaining action set pieces that help this movie be semi-enjoyable. This film takes place ten years after initially meeting Anakin Skywalker who shares a forbidden romance with Padme, while Obi-Wan investigates an assassination attempt on the senator and discovers a secret Clone Army crafted for the Jedi. This film has more negatives than positives so I am going to start with what I didn't like. Once again the dialogue is terrible, especially between Anakin and Padme. It doesn't flow and is just so difficult to hear that it was hard to watch them on screen together. They had no chemistry whatsoever and it was supposed to be a love story between these characters, but I didn't buy it at all. I still like Anakin Skywalker as a character but Hayden Christensen's performance was not great, although I found him to be an improvement over Jake Lloyd who played him in the previous installment. What this film suffers from is bad pacing and boring subplots making the film longer than just 2 hours and 22 minutes running time. Christopher Lee plays Count Dooku, the main villain. The problem I have with this character is that he shows up 1hr and 15 minutes into the movie and only has 20 minutes of screen time. I wish he was in the movie more. The lightsaber fight between Obi-Wan, Anakin and Count Dooku was one of the worst lightsaber fights in any of the Star Wars movies; it was short, lazy, and less choreographed than the others. There are some positives in this movie. I liked that there was less Jar Jar Binks in this one. Amd I liked the emotional elements in the movie. One of my favorite scenes features Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker finding his mother and her dying. This entire scene was very emotional and heartbreaking. In my opinion, it was one of Haydens best acting performances. Once again the sound design and sound editing is amazing and stunning which makes you feel like you were in the world that Gorge Lucas created. I really liked most of the action sequences in this movie…the speeder chase involving Anakin and Obi-Wan pursuing a bounty hunter was an exciting and entertaining scene….the battle of Genesis involving all of the Jedi fighting is exhilarating and breathtaking to watch…the lightsaber fight between Yoda and Dooku had great special effects, and fans have been waiting for years for Yoda to have a lightsaber and it was fun to watch. "Star Wars Episode II Attack of The Clones" is another disappointing chapter in the prequel trilogy. Unfortunately, this movie suffers from bad pacing and a poorly written script making it the weakest chapter in the Star Wars franchise. I am giving "Star Wars Episode II Attack of The Clones" a 2 out of 5 Stars.
