Movie Review:

"The Avengers" is the sixth film in the MCU and was the first time that Marvel studios and Disney made cinematic history by uniting all of our heroes in one film that might be the best Comic book movie of all time. This movie is directed by Joss Weden and he blended comic book action scenes and funny comedic scenes with perfection. There is definite chemistry among all of the Avengers and it works in this movie. Robert Downey, Jr. returns as my favorite Avenger, Tony Stark/Iron Man. Downey's comedic timing is flawless and his brotherly relationship with Bruce Banner was fun to watch. Chris Evans also returns as Captain Steve Rogers/Captain America. Evans was good, but he didn't have any character development and was just there to move the plot along. Chris Hemsworth is also back as the God of Thunder, Thor and he brings a sense of humor to this character and delivers some funny lines in scenes with the Hulk. Scarlett Johansson returns as Black Widow after making her debut in Iron man 2 and once again is awesome in this role as a strong female character that isn't a damsel in distress but is also sexy and ruthless. Samuel L. Jackson plays Nick Fury the director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and it's always great to see him in Marvel movies. In my opinion, the one who steals the show is Mark Ruffalo/The Hulk. Ruffalo has some of the best scenes and the best action set pieces in this film, and this is the Hulk we've been waiting to see for years. The Avenger who I thought was wasted was Hawkeye played by the talented Jeremy Renner. The villain, Loki turned him into a zombie and took control of his mind for most of the film and it was a disappointing aspect for the film for me. The villain Loki played by Tom Hiddleston is by far one the best villains in the MCU and I really understood the motives of this character. Most of the supporting cast that includes Cobbie Smulders, Clark Gregg, and Stelen Skarsgard are used well. The action scenes are entertaining and fun to watch. "The Avengers" is one of the best comic book movies in the modern era with a great ensemble cast, funny moments, chemistry with the team, and exciting action scenes along with a terrifying villain that will make you come back for more. I highly recommend seeing this movie. I am giving "The Avengers" a 5 out of 5 stars.
