Movie Review:

"Venom" is directed by Ruben Fleischer and is a spin off from the Spiderman comics and is a retelling of his origin story in which they had to change because Spiderman is in the MCU now. What we got was a messy, clunky, cheesy film that was disappointing if you are a true venom Fan. But there some entraining aspects of the film Tom Hardy is one of my favorite actors working today I love the guy and I will see anything that he does the best relationship was Eddie Brock and Venom and there conversations that they have together were funny, entaining to watch but sometimes they had a few cheesy lines that Tom Hardy said that had we roll my eyes at the screen. Most of the performance in the film are fine like Michelle Williams who plays Anne Weying Eddie Brocks love interest and formal lover and they had no chemistry with each other and it felt forced. Also Michelle Williams is one of the best actresses working right now she had nothing to do in the film and the dialogue that she says were awful and it became laughable in not a good way. Most of the supporting characters were also wasted like Jenny Slate who plays Dora scirth who is a scientist working for Carlton Drake the films villain and she was fine but she had nothing to do and was only I the film for the first 30 minutes of the film. There are a few fun action scenes that were fun to watch including when Venom finally takes control of Eddie and attacks an FBI team that was fun to watch and most of acton scenes were very well executed except for the last fight scene with the villain Carlton Drake was awful and it felt rushed. The whole film felt rushed and the editing between the scenes were messy and the whole film felt like the studio was interfering with the film. The Villain Carlton Drake played by the talented Riz Ahmend was terrible and felt like a cheesy one bite villain who wanted money and I felt no attachment to his character and it felt it was a wast of Riz Ahmend’s Talent as an actor. It switches in tone also the next scene it is serious and the next it turns into a cartoon including one restaurant scene with Eddie Brock freaking out that felt like a cartoon it was embarrassing. This film really felt like a step backwards for the comic book Genre when we live in a world where we are at the golden ages of comic book films that include the Christopher Nolan Batman Films, the MCU films and even that Wonder Women did last year it felt like a movie that should have been released in the late 90s where studios didn’t know how make comic book films. Venom isn’t terrible with some funny moments between Eddie Brock and Venom, some fun action scenes but that doesn’t make for the bad dialogue, a weak villain and bad editing very kills the film for me. I am going to give Venom a 2 out 5 stars.
