Movie Review:

"Bumblebee” is directed by Travis Knight and is the 6th film of the Transformers franchise and is a prequel and a reboot. I was kind of finished with the transformers franchise because I wasn’t the biggest fan off the last 4 films but I am happy to Say I loved this film to beginning to end to the feeling of a coming of age film that the late John Hughs would have mad the the 80s. And to the exciting action scenes that was intense to watch and human characters that I actually cared about this was a just fun and heart warming film about a girl and her car. It was simple. Bumblebee takes place in 1987 and after the fall of Cyberton Optimus Prime sends Bumblebee to Earth to defend it at all cost. After the exciting battle on Cybertron he crash lands on Earth and meets Charlie Watson Played by Hailee Steinfeld. This Actress is a star I loved her in this movie she plays a social outcast who misses her father and is a grease Junky. The strongest Element to this film was Charlie and Bumblebee I brought there friendship it was a mix of “The Iron Giant meets E.T and I loved it. I believe this is Hailee Steinfeld’s best performance since the “Edge Of Seventeen” she’s great with emotional scenes with Bumblebee she could take care of her self during the exciting action scenes and that made her the best character in the movie. Charlie meets Memo played by Jorge Lendeborg Jr. who his character has a crush on her they become friends and there are some romance scenes in this movie that work because they didn’t rush or rush it they just set it up in future movies down the line. Also he was really good as the awkward nerd having trouble talking to girls it reminded me in high school and I related to that. The Villains are Shatter and Dropkick two deceptions both voiced by Angela Bassett and Justin Theroux are both freighting and scary villains they were both fun to watch. Some of the weakest elements of the film were Both John Cena who plays Agent Burns and John Ortiz who plays Dr. Powell both felt one note and felt like they could have been another movie. There were attempts for humor with Agent Burns that fell flat for me but most of the humor was funny. The soundtrack and the score this film to the classic 80s tunes through out the film felt like was in the 80s. There were also some Cool Cameos like the autobot leader Optimus Prime was great to see. The Visual effects are beautiful to look are the transformers looked cool and looked real. Bumblebee was one the most surprising films I have seen this year from fun action scenes, Characters that I actually cared about and the the relationship between Bumblebee and Charlie that felt like movies from E.T and the Iron Giant this not just a good transformers film this is a good movie period. I am going to give Bumblebee a 4.5 out of 5 stars.
