Movie Review:

“Pokemon Detective Pikachu” is an action adventure video game movie base on the world wide phenomenon Pokemon and it is a fun, action packed adventure that made me feel like I was a kid again watching the show when I was little kid so I really liked this movie it was a fun ride from start to finish. Detective Pikachu is about a young 21 year old son named Tim who comes across an intelligent talking Pikachu who must work together to find his father who goes missing. There is a lot to love about this movie first Ryan Reynolds who voices Pikachu in the movie steals the show he was funny, charming, and adorable to watch on screen. I really Liked Tim’s ( Justice Smith) Partnership with Pikachu they were hilarious together it felt like a boy and his dog story and It felt fresh. One of the best elements of the film was the detective noir feel that felt like a mystery film that will keep you guessing until the end. One of the other best things in this movie was Ryan Reynolds who voices Pikachu he was sharp, funny, hilarious and cute and without him in this movie then the movie would have fallen apart but thank-goodness it didn’t. The action scenes in this movie were very exciting that reminded me of the cartoon growing up. Tim does meet an intern Reporter by the name of Lucy Stevens played by the beautiful Kathryn Newton she was decent in the movie but when her character was introduced I felt she was little to over the top that made me role my eyes but after that her character warmed up to me and then I enjoyed her character. Most of the human Characters felt a little flat like Tim played by Justice Smith Just sometimes felt like he was just wining and complaining about every small thing. It was fun to see Ken Watanabe again it was great to see him in a supporting role. Bill Nighy who plays Howard Clifford who was a head of the major company that helps the Pokemon in Rhyme City and I didn’t Like what they did with his character It felt lazy and cheep. Also the Villain was weak. The script want that great and some of the film suffers from it. There were a lot of fun reference to the Pokemon tv show that made me smile. This movie was still a fun ride it was cute, funny, charming and Ryan Reynolds steals the entire movie. I am going to Give Pokemon Detective Pikachu a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
