Movie Review:

“Good Boys” is the new original comedy produced by Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg and is directed by Gene Stupnitsky. It is a classic coming of age movie that is hilarious, heartfelt and is one of the year's best. “Good Boys” is a about three 12-year olds that are invited to their first kissing party and must find a way to be good at it before they go. Max is played by Jacob Tremblay and he is so multi-talented, and at a young age, he has already mastered the art of drama as well as comedy. He is so funny, cute and charming in this movie and his on screen chemistry with his co-stars, Thor and Lucas, creates a realistic atmosphere in every scene. Thor is played by Brady Noon and he brought that bad boy edge to his character that made him even funnier to watch. But the actor who stole the show was Keith L. Williams who plays Lucas; this kid had me in stitches from the way he screamed, to the way he laughed, and then how he cracked under pressure in any situation. The supporting cast of Will Forte (Max’s dad), Molly Gordon (Hannah) and Midori Francis (teenager) all get caught up in the three boys' adventure and they have some hilarious scenes with them. The film is full of dirty and cruel jokes so be prepared for that type of humor throughout. The downside of this film is that it is nothing new — the overall story was the same 'coming of age' story we have seen time and again in films like “Superbad", “Blocker”, and most recently” “Booksmart”. Also, the emotional scenes fall flat in this movie and felt like they were trying too hard to make them work. Overall, "Good Boys" is entertaining with three young actors who give outstanding performances. I am giving “Good Boys” a 4 out of 5 stars.
