It Chapter 2

Synopsis: Defeated by members of the Losers' Club, the evil clown Pennywise returns 27 years later to terrorize the town of Derry, Maine, once again. Now adults, the childhood friends have long since gone their separate ways. But when people start disappearing, Mike Hanlon calls the others home for one final stand. Damaged by scars from the past, the united Losers must conquer their deepest fears to destroy the shape-shifting Pennywise -- now more powerful than ever.

Movie Review:

"It Chapter 2” is the sequel to the highly successful horror movie ''It" and is directed once again by Andres Muschietti. This takes place 27 years after the first film and follows the grown up Losers' Club, who must go back to Derry and stop Pennywise the dancing clown once and for all. Although this movie is not as good as the first, it is still a fun, scary ride with a great cast. James McAvoy plays the grown up version of Billy who is a writer and is still haunted by Pennywise. Jessica Chastain plays the traumatized, grown up version of Bev who endures an abusive relationship with her husband similar to the relationship she had with her father in the first film. Bill Hader plays the grown up version of Richie and was the best part of the movie as he captures most of the funny and emotional moments in each scene that he is in. Bill Skarsgard returns as Pennywise, the dancing clown and doesn't disappoint as this haunting destroyer. I absolutely loved the opening and the first half of this film, especially the relationships with every member of the Losers' Club like Bev, Richie, Mike, Ben and Eddie. These scenes were attention-grabbing and the de-aging of the kids from the first film showed how visual effects are getting better and better. However, some of the flashback scenes felt a little too long and repetitive. I felt that the second part of the movie dragged on and it had some pacing issues. But the end was fun to watch with creepy imagery and a dynamic conclusion which wrapped up characters' storylines. "It Chapter 2" is an exciting horror sequel with a talented cast but the story isn't as good as the first. I am giving “It Chapter 2” a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
