Zombieland 2: Double Tap

Synopsis: Zombie slayers Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita and Little Rock square off against the newly evolved undead.

Movie Review:

“Zombieland 2: Double Tap" was directed once again by Ruben Fleisher and is the sequel to the surprise comedy "Zombieland" and it doesn't disappoint. Most of the main cast from the first film has returned — Jesse Eisenberg as Columbus is the same scared person and he is still hilarious; Woody Harrelson as Tallahassee is always funny especially his banter back and forth with Columbus; Oscar winning actress Emma Stone as Wichita captures the romance in the film and the relationship she has with Columbus seems loving and real; and Abigail Breslin as Wichita’s sister, Little Rock is now older and wants to leave the nest. The chemistry with the main cast was the best part of this film. There were some new characters added. Zoey Deutch plays Madison whose dynamic with Columbus, Tallahassee and Wichita was so much fun to watch. I felt her character was the standout in this movie. Another fun addition was Rosario Dawson as Nevada who is a love interest to Tallahassee and I only wish she was more in the movie. Unfortunately, "Zombieland 2" does have some problems. There is really not a great story except the road trip to find Little Rock which took up most of the plot and I thought it was the weakest part of the film. The scenes pertaining to the Nevada's Elvis Hotel slowed the flow of the film. And Luke Wilson and Thomas Middleditch were only in the movie for 10 minutes and were completely wasted. However, “Zombieland 2: Double Tap” is a funny and entertaining movie with a talented main cast. It is a satisfying sequel to the original cult comedy classic. I am giving “Zombieland 2: Double Tap” a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
