Terminator: Dark Fate

Synopsis: In Mexico City, a newly modified liquid Terminator -- the Rev-9 model -- arrives from the future to kill a young factory worker named Dani Ramos. Also sent back in time is Grace, a hybrid cyborg human who must protect Ramos from the seemingly indestructible robotic assassin. But the two women soon find some much-needed help from a pair of unexpected allies -- seasoned warrior Sarah Connor and the T-800 Terminator.

Movie Review:

“Terminator: Dark Fate” was directed by Tim Miller and is the 6th film in the Terminator franchise and is the true sequel after the classic “Terminator 2: Judgement Day”. This film is fun, exciting and action packed with three strong female leads that are inspirational and powerful. "Terminator Dark Fate" takes place 22 years after "Terminator 2" and it follows a young factory worker Dani Ramos played by Natalia Reyes who is the target. A new liquid modified Terminator called the Rev-9 is played by Gabriel Luna and he portrays a terrifying villain who is unstoppable. A Hybrid cyborg human named Grace played by Mackenzie Davis steals the show in my opinion. I love her relationship with every character, especially Dani, and her past war fighting scenes. There are a few changes to the original story, as well as some twists and turns that might make long-time fans upset, but if you keep an open mind then you will enjoy this movie. Finally, Linda Hamilton returns to the franchise after "Terminator 2" and she was worth the wait. Hamilton still has the spunky personality and energy that made you fall in love with this character. Arnold Schwarzeneger returns again as an older T-800 and as always he is great, and he brings some much needed humor to this serious character. The first half of the film moved quickly with exciting action and nostalgic moments when Sarah Conner returns — a nonstop thrill ride. There are a few scenes that drag; full of plot explanations. However, by the end of the movie it picks up again with lots of action sequences making the finale a rollercoaster emotional ride that was not disappointing. It is obvious that director Tim Miller was a fan of this franchise and he brought some life back into this dying series with grit, great new and old characters, and a chilling villain; and he just made it simple. I am giving “Terminator: Dark Fate” a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
