Movie Review:

“The Gentlemen” is a gangster movie directed by Guy Ritchie. The cast in the movie is phenomenal especially, Matthew McConaughey who plays Mickey Pearson (an American expatriate who becomes rich by building a marijuana empire in London). McConaughey was fearless, charming, and intimidating as the lead in this movie and there is no doubt that he captures the gangster character perfectly. Both supporting actors, Charlie Hannam (Ray) and Colin Farrell (Coach) added some humor to the film and I enjoyed their characters and storylines. I loved the way Guy Ritchie directed this movie. He told the story out of order and there were some twists that happened that I did not see coming and it worked for me as a viewer. But the story does jump a lot in time which might confuse some viewers and keep them from enjoying the movie. Also, be prepared for too much profanity; it can be annoying and unnecessary at times. Finally, the character that I did not like was Dry Eye played by Henry Golding whose over-the-top character just did not fit into the movie. “The Gentlemen” is a well acted, entertaining gangster epic that gave Guy Richie another hit. I am giving “The Gentlemen” a 3.5 out of 5 stars.
