The Hunt

Synopsis: Twelve strangers wake up in a clearing. They don't know where they are -- or how they got there. In the shadow of a dark internet conspiracy theory, ruthless elitists gather at a remote location to hunt humans for sport. But their master plan is about to be derailed when one of the hunted, Crystal, turns the tables on her pursuers.

Runtime: 90 minutes.

Movie Review: “The Hunt” was directed by Craig Zobel and is an action thriller satire on the political system. I found this movie to deliver some great performances from talented actors, but mediocre and boring with no thrill moments. The political satire falls flat and the jokes fail miserably. This movie is not for everyone – it is full of bloody and gory scenes of side characters getting blown up. Most of the cast is wasted like Emma Roberts, Justin Hartley, and the funny, Ike Barinhotlz who were only it the film for about 5 minutes. However, I did enjoy Hilary Swank. She plays a great villain who was a despicable rich CEO who was behind the hunting. Another enjoyable aspect of the film was Betty Gilpin who plays the character Crystal, a kidnapped prisoner who kills all the rich CEO's; she has some of the funniest lines and scenes, and in my opinion, she made the film watchable. Other than some good acting by the cast, there isn't much I liked about this movie and I don't recommend it. I am giving “The Hunt” a 2 out of 5 stars.
