Palm Springs

Synopsis:

Stuck in a time loop, two wedding guests develop a budding romance while living the same day over and over again.

Movie Review:

“Palm Springs” was directed by Max Barbakow and is a new comedy that stars the funny Andy Samberg and Cristin Milloti. It is similar to the classic comedy “Groundhog Day” but with two people reliving the same day instead of one. This might be one of the best films I have seen so far this year. It's hilariously funny and emotionally heartwarming at the same time. Andy Samberg gives an outstanding performance as he combines comedy with a dramatic side to him that impressed me. However, for me, the standout of this movie was Cristin Milloti. She plays Sarah who gets stuck in this time loop with Nyles and both characters are confused and irresponsible. She has great chemistry with Andy Samberg, but Milloti brought the heart to the movie and made the romance seem real. J.K. Simmons was another great addition to the cast even though he doesn’t have much screen time; he is always funny to watch. The supporting cast is stacked with comedic talent like Camila Mendes, Tyler Hoechlin, Meredith Hagner, and Peter Gallagher. The only issue that I had with this movie was its predictability. I knew how it was going to end. In my opinion, this comedy/romance is worth seeing. It is entertaining, funny and heartfelt with great performances from Samberg and Milloti. I am giving “Palm Springs” a 4.5 out of 5 stars.
