The Broken Hearts Gallery

Synopsis: What if you saved a souvenir from every relationship you've ever been in? The Broken Hearts Gallery follows the always unique Lucy, a 20-something art gallery assistant living in New York City, who also happens to be an emotional hoarder.

Movie Review:

“The Broken Hearts Gallery” was directed by Natalie Krinsky and is a Rom-Com that is surprisingly very funny, heartfelt, and relatable. This movie is a realistic take on heartbreak, relationships, and love when you are in your 20’s. Geraldine Viswanathan plays Lucy one of the main characters and she carries the film. She will make you laugh and cry. Dacre Montgomery plays Nick the other main character. He is a nice guy who helps Lucy make the broken hearts gallery, and they also teach each other life lessons along the way. These two likeable leads have amazing chemistry together. I really liked how this film emphasizes human flaws and mistakes. In my opinion, the person who steals the show was Molly Gordon as one of Lucy’s best friends Amanda. Amanda doesn’t have a filter and says anything that comes into her mind; she was hilarious. Phillipa Soo who plays Nadine and Arturo Castro who plays Nick’s friend Marcos added some funny humor as well. Utkarsh Ambudkar who plays Lucy’s ex-boyfriend Max just shows up when the plot needs him. I do have some issues -- this movie doesn’t have a lot of surprises. It follows every Rom-Com cliché in the book. I knew what was going to happen and how it was going to end. And there are some unnecessary characters like Chloe that felt forced. This is one of the better Rom-Coms that I have seen and we need that right now. I am giving “The Broken Hearts Gallery” a 3.5 out of 5.
