Synopsis: Violet is a widowed mother who goes to an upscale restaurant to meet Henry, her charming and handsome date. However, her pleasant evening soon turns into a living nightmare when she receives phone messages from a mysterious, hooded figure who threatens to kill her young son and sister unless she kills Henry.

Movie Review:

"Drop," directed by Christopher Landon, is an original thriller that has a modern Hitchcockian style, making it mysterious and enjoyable. Meghann Fahy delivers a great lead performance as Violent Gates, a widowed mother with a tragic past. Her depth and emotional portrayal of a character dealing with abuse make her compelling to watch. Brandon Sklenar also shines as Henry Campbell, the charming date who adds to the suspense. The first two acts do a good job of building up the mystery of who is stalking Violent, keeping the audience engaged. Violett Beane as Jen Gates, Violent's younger sister, adds some fun action scenes towards the end of the movie. However, the reveal felt obvious and the third act was over the top, turning the thriller into a cheesy action movie. Despite some flaws, "Drop" is still a fun little thriller that I enjoyed. I would give it a 3.5/5 stars.
