Movie Review:

“Prey” is directed by Dan Trachtenberg, and it is the 7th predator movie and a prequel to the other films that takes place 300 years in the 1700s. After decades of bad “Predator” movies, we finally have a film that lives up to its name – this terrifying Predator will not hesitate to kill anyone in his path. I believe this movie surpasses the original 1987 one. This film is a simple story stripped of all the complicated material that made the past “Predator” movies not work. I loved the main character Naru a Comanche warrior who wants to prove she is a hunter in her tribe played by Amber Midthunder. Naru is strong, ruthless, and relatable. Dakota Beavers plays Taabe Naru’s brother. The brother/sister relationship was the heart of the film. The action scenes were creatively filmed and felt real. This movie is extremely violent and super bloody, and the look of the Predator is very scary. The third act was epic and satisfying. The only issue I had was the CGI for the animals was weak and looked fake. But I loved this movie. It is a real horror film worthy of the “Predator” franchise. I am giving “Prey” 4.5/5 stars.
