A Quiet Place: Day One

Synopsis: When New York City comes under attack from an alien invasion, a woman and other survivors try to find a way to safety. They soon learn that they must remain absolutely silent as the mysterious creatures are drawn to the slightest sound.

 Movie Review:

"A Quiet Place: Day One" is the fourth installment in the horror monster franchise, directed by Michael Sarnoski. This time, it serves as a prequel, exploring the events of day one of the invasion that led to the world going silent. The film delves into new characters and expands the universe, taking place in the bustling city of New York, adding an extra layer of intensity and fear.

Lupita Nyong’o delivers a powerful performance as Sam, a woman battling cancer who must now navigate a world overrun by monsters, where silence is key to survival. Her bond with her cat, Frodo, adds a heartwarming touch to the story. Joseph Quinn shines as Eric, a young man who aids Sam in her quest for survival, showcasing a strong chemistry between the two characters.

While Alex Wolff and Djimon Hounsou deliver solid supporting performances, the lack of depth in their characters is noticeable. The film's biggest flaw lies in its predictability and rushed ending, lacking the freshness of its predecessors.

Overall, "A Quiet Place: Day One" is a thrilling and intense addition to the franchise, offering great scares and a captivating story.

I am giving it a 4/5 stars.
