Movie Review:

"Am I Ok?" is a rom-com directed by Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne, starring Dakota Johnson. The film tells a relatable coming-of-age story with a great message about finding yourself and friendship. Johnson gives a wonderful performance as Lucy, a 32-year-old woman who discovers she might be gay. She is extremely likable, funny, innocent, and awkward as she navigates her journey of self-discovery. Sonoya Mizuno plays Jane, Lucy's best friend, and their chemistry on screen is fantastic, making their friendship the heart of the movie. Molly Gordon steals the show as Jane's crazy co-worker Kat, who had me laughing out loud every time she appeared. The supporting cast, including Sean Hayes, Keirsey Clemons, and Tig Notaro, are funny and heartfelt, but their characters felt underdeveloped. My biggest issue with the film is that it felt rushed and could have benefited from an extra 10 minutes to tie up loose ends. Overall, "Am I Ok?" is a charming, well-acted comedy that is funny, heartfelt, and endearing. I am giving it a 3.5/5 stars.
