Ambulance

Synopsis: Needing money to cover his wife's medical bills, a decorated veteran teams up with his adoptive brother to steal $32 million from a Los Angeles bank. However, when their getaway goes spectacularly wrong, the desperate thieves hijack an ambulance that's carrying a severely wounded cop and an EMT worker. Caught in a high-speed chase, the two siblings must figure out a way to outrun the law while keeping their hostages alive.

Movie Review:

“Ambulance” is directed by Michael Bay, and it is the new action film that take place mostly in an ambulance. Basically, it is a two-hour long car chase that has its intense moments, but gets repetitive, long, and boring at times. What saves this movie is the over-the-top crazy performance by Jake Gyllenhaal who plays professional bank robber Danny Sharp. Although he delivers some badly written dialogue that feels like a 90’s action movie Jake pulls it off and makes it work. Yahya Abdul-Mateen plays Danny’s brother Will. Their relationship was the heart of the movie especially their deep, emotional conversations. Eiza Gonzalez plays Cam a EMT who gets captured by the robbers and tries to survive. This movie gets chaotic at times with cars flipping every second and explosions happening every moment. And it tries to be a comedy with endless humor from the side cop and the F.B.I. characters that falls flat. Also, there were pointless references and call backs from other Michael Bay movies like “Bad Boys” and “The Rock” that felt out of place. I am giving “Ambulance” a 3/5 stars.
