American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story

Synopsis: The inspirational true story of Kurt Warner, who overcomes years of challenges and setbacks to become a two-time NFL MVP, Super Bowl champion, and Hall of Fame quarterback. Just when his dreams seem all but out of reach, it's only with the support of his wife, Brenda, and the encouragement of his family, coaches, and teammates that Warner perseveres and finds the strength to show the world the champion that he already is.

Movie Review:

“American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story” is directed by the Erwin Brothers, and it is the inspirational true story of two-time NFL MVP champion Kurt Warner. I was super excited for this movie because I am a huge football fan, and I was not disappointed. This movie is a sports drama with a great performance by Zachary Levi in the title role. Zachary Levi plays Kurt Warner one of the best undrafted quarter backs of his time. Levi conveys emotion and strength in this role as his character overcomes many challenges along the way to success. Anna Paquin plays his wife Brenda and they had great chemistry on screen. Most of the movie is about their relationship which is good, but sometimes bad since the movie does get boring and feels like a hallmark movie at times. Dennis Quaid is entertaining as real-life Rams coach Dick Vermeil who never gave up on Kurt and always believed in him. The football scenes are great and well filmed; I only wish the film had more scenes with Kurt Warner in the NFL playing football. This is still an entertaining sports drama with great acting, and an emotional story with a great message. I am giving “American Underdog: The Kurt Warner Story” a 3.5/5 stars.
