Blonde

Synopsis: A look at the rise to fame and the epic demise of actress Marilyn Monroe, one of the biggest stars in the world.

Movie Review:

“Blonde” is directed by Andrew Dominik, and it is the new bio pic fantasy based on the book of the same name. This is the most disappointing movie that I have seen all year even with the incredible performance from Ana De Armas; she couldn’t save this uncomfortable and weird movie. Ana De Armas transforms into Marilyn Monroe and captures the look and personality of the Hollywood icon who at times was needy, unhinged, and unlikable. The supporting cast of Adrien Brody and Bobby Cannavale who played important people in her life were all great. My biggest issues with this movie are that it lacks a well-defined story or plot. The scenes are confusing and all over the place sacrificing style over substance. And the film is way too long -- 3 hours and you feel it. “Blonde” was an unnecessary bio pic that was disrespectful to the legacy of Marilyn Monroe. I am giving “Blonde” a 2/5 stars.
