Movie Review:

“DC League of Super-Pets” is directed by Jared Stern, and it is the new animated movie in the DC comics universe starring Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. This is a fun movie that anyone (not just kids) can enjoy if you love comic book films. Dwayne Johnson voices Superman’s best friend Krypto the Super Dog, and he brings charm and wit to this dog that is adorable on screen and makes you fall in love with him as soon as he is introduced. Kevin Hart voices Ace the Bat-Hound and he is hilarious as always. This movie has an all-star cast that includes Vanessa Bayer, Diego Luna, Natasha Lyonne, Ben Schwartz, and Olivia Wilde who all add humor to the story. John Krasinski voices Superman who wants to marry Lois Lane and he is great from beginning to end. The one who steals the show is Keanu Reeves as Batman. He pulls it off by showing his emotions and humor. Kate McKinnon voices an evil superpowered Guinea pig and she is hysterical as this character who falls in love with the evil Lex Luthor voiced by Marc Maron. There were some great and fun callbacks to the other Batman and Superman movies in the past that was nostalgic. Although the middle of the movie felt rushed at times, and some of the jokes fell flat or were repetitive, I was surprised how much I enjoyed this movie. I am giving “DC League of Super-Pets a 3.5/5 stars.
