Central to Presley's journey and happiness is one of the most influential people in his life -- Priscilla.

Movie Review:

“Elvis” is directed by Bas Luhrmann, and it is the music Bio-Pic of the most celebrated and talented singers of all time Elvis Presley. Austin Butler plays Elvis, and he perfectly captures his energy, movements and singing that makes his performance more than just an impersonation. Baz Luhrmann puts his own unique style to the film with modern music added to the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s songs that was well done and worked brilliantly. Tom Hanks plays his long-time manager Colonel Tom Parker a despicable conman who launched Elvis to stardom and was one of the reasons why he died so young. Once again, Hanks gives a powerful performance as this unlikeable character. I think the actor who stole the show was newcomer Olivia DeJonge who plays Priscilla Presley his longtime girlfriend and wife. On screen, she had amazing romantic chemistry with Austin Butler and looked just like the real-life Priscilla. There were many talented performances from the supporting cast like Dacre Montgomery, Luke Bracy and Kodie Smit-Mcphee who all play important roles in the movie that help Elvis with his career and music. Every musical performance was entertaining and energizing which made the movie nonstop fun to watch. Although I loved the electric energy of the movie, it does get exhausting with its bloated long run time that made it feel way too long. I am not the biggest Baz Luhrmann fan, but this is one of my favorite movies he has made. I am giving “Elvis” a 4/5 stars.
