Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery

Synopsis: Tech billionaire Miles Bron invites his friends for a getaway on his private Greek island. When someone turns up dead, Detective Benoit Blanc is put on the case.

Movie Review:

“Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” is directed by Rian Johnson who directed the popular 2019 ‘who don it’ mystery. This one is another hilarious and well written script with characters that are incredible on screen. Daniel Craig returns as Detective Benoit Blanc a charismatic and talented sleuth with a more telling backstory. Edward Norton plays tech billionaire who is deceiving and unlikeable, but charming at times. Most of the all-star cast is fantastic like Kate Hudson, Madelyn Cline, Jessica Henwick, Kathryn Hahn and Leslie Odom, Jr. They all play colorful characters that are never boring and fun to watch on screen. The best performance is hands down Janell Monae who plays Cassandra Brand; she has an unexpected twist toward the end. My biggest issues with the film are that it takes a while to get going with a lot of story set up so it felt slow moving. And the humor felt a little too spoof like at times. I still enjoyed this mystery movie, but I thought the first one was better. I am giving “Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery” a 4/5 stars.
