Halloween Kills

Synopsis: The nightmare isn't over as unstoppable killer Michael Myers escapes from Laurie Strode's trap to continue his ritual bloodbath. Injured and taken to the hospital, Laurie fights through the pain as she inspires residents of Haddonfield, Il., to rise up against Myers. Taking matters into their own hands, the Strode women and other survivors form a vigilante mob to hunt down Michael and end his reign of terror once and for all.

Movie Review:

“Halloween Kills” is directed once again by David Gordon Green, and it is the sequel to the 2018 version (and this is the 12th film of the franchise). I found it to be an entertaining movie but a little disappointing. This movie takes place immediately after the events of the last film in 2018 where Michael Myers escapes from Laurie Strode’s trap, and he goes on a killing spree. Some of the best aspects of the movie were the death scenes that are filled with blood and gore. I also loved the opening flashback scene that takes the audience back to 1978 where the original Halloween film took place, and it was interesting to see the different characters’ perspectives of that night. I also loved Jaime Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode. She is fantastic as this character. Her hatred for Michael Myers is the main story of the film, and it is the reason why she inspires the whole town of Haddonfield to band together and kill him. I also thought Judy Greer and Andi Matichak who play her daughter and granddaughter added to the strong woman presence on screen throughout this movie. Unfortunately, Laurie isn’t in the film much because she was injured in the last movie. There were some characters that returned from the ‘78 film, and it was great to see them try to track down and kill Michael Myers. One of my biggest issues with this movie is there are too many characters, and the flashbacks require too much explanation. This film just felt like an incomplete story setting up yet another sequel. And I wasn’t a fan of the shocking ending. I am giving “Halloween Kills” 3/5 out of 5 Stars.
