Synopsis: A juror for a high-profile murder trial finds himself struggling with a serious moral dilemma that could influence the verdict and potentially convict, or free, the accused killer.
Juror #2," directed by Clint Eastwood, is a gripping and original courtroom drama that I found to be one of the best films I've seen all year. Nicholas Holt delivers an incredible performance as Justin Kemp, a young man with a dark secret that adds depth to his character. Toni Collette shines as Faith Killebrew, the determined prosecutor running for DA, and J.K. Simmons steals the show as Harold, the retired detective. The supporting cast, including Gabriel Basso, Chris Messina, Leslie Bibb, and Cedric Yarbrough, all give outstanding performances that add emotion to the film. Zoey Deutch's portrayal of Allison Crewson, Justin's wife, was emotional, but lacked chemistry with Holt. Despite a few small issues, "Juror #2" is a complex and intense courtroom drama that showcases Eastwood's talent. I give it 4.5/5 stars.
