Movie Review:

“Knock at the Cabin” is directed by M. Night Shyamalan, and it is based on the book called “The Cabin at the End of the World”. This film is an intense, thriller with a great acting cast and is one of the best M. Night movies he has directed in a long time. Dave Bautista plays Leonard one of the four people who breaks into this cabin, and he gives a fantastic performance. He shows lots of range as this kind, ruthless, and loyal to his mission character. Ben Aldridge plays Andrew the dad who is held hostage and he is incredibly powerful and emotional in this movie. Jonathan Groff plays Eric a caring husband (husband to Andrew) and he is the heart and soul of this movie. Another standout was Kristen Cui who plays their 8-year-old daughter Wen. Rupert Grint, Kristen Cui, and Nikki Amuka-Bird play the 4 strangers and they were great as well. Unfortunately, there were some problems with this movie. There was some focus on undeveloped characters that you don’t know anything about and you don’t care about them. The third act and ending were unsatisfying and unemotional. The movie was also too biblical. This is still an entertaining thriller. I am giving “Knock at the Cabin” a 3.5/5 stars.
