Moonfall

Synopsis: The world stands on the brink of annihilation when a mysterious force knocks the moon from its orbit and sends it hurling toward a collision course with Earth. With only weeks before impact, NASA executive Jocinda "Jo" Fowler teams up with a man from her past and a conspiracy theorist for an impossible mission into space to save humanity.

Movie Review:

“Moonfall” is directed by Roland Emmerich, and it is the new Science fiction disaster movie. Unfortunately, this is a flop with messy plot holes, an unnecessary supporting cast, and boring subplots. Patrick Wilson plays Brian Harper a former astronaut who must race against time to save the world. This character has great comedic timing, an interesting back story, and is likeable and believable. Halle Berry plays Jocinda Fowler head of NASA who teams up with Brian to go to space. She and Harper have great on-screen chemistry, but her character has some silly dialogue that made me cringe at times. I wasn’t a big fan of John Bradley who plays K.C a conspiracy theorist. This super smart moon expert was annoying, and his comedy attempts fell flat. Most of the supporting cast like Charlie Plummer, Kelly Yu and Michael Pena had individual subplots that are unnecessary to the story and made the film longer. Donald Sutherland was just wasted in this movie; he had one scene that was just explaining unimportant information. This movie lacks tone as well as confusing twists throughout. I am giving “Moonfall” 2/5 stars.
