Morbius

Synopsis: Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others from the same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside of him is soon unleashed.

Movie Review:

“Morbius” is directed by Daniel Espinosa, and it is based on a Spider-man villain. Sadly, this is not a good movie – it is a predictable comic book story that tries to set up future Sony Spider films. Jared Leto plays Michael Morbius a desperate mad scientist who is dying from a blood disorder. He then becomes a supernatural vampire. While Leto gives a decent performance, I was not a fan of this character. Adria Arjona plays Dr. Martine Bancroft who is the love interest of Morbius, and she was the best part of the movie. She did have some romantic chemistry with Jared Leto and her character is likeable. However, there are many problems with this movie. As much I enjoyed some of the action scenes in the first act, they get repetitive and dull as they rely too much on slow motion. Matt Smith plays Milo the villain and he was way over the top and terrible, especially his fight scenes. The CGI was horrible, the scenes felt choppy and rushed, and it ended way too quickly. The supporting characters like Tyrese Gibson and Al Madrigal who play two FBI agents were used horribly, and they added nothing to the plot of the film. Also, the great Jared Harris was wasted and was just there to be a father figure for Michael. Overall, this is a bad movie, and I was very disappointed. Don’t waste your money or time on this one. I am giving “Morbius” 2/5 stars.
