Synopsis: A Look at the Military Commander's Origins and his swift, ruthless climb to emperor, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship withhis wife and one true love, Josephine.

Movie Review:

"Napoleon" is directed by Ridley Scott, and is the new biopic about the legendary French miltary commander who became Emperor. This movie shows Napoleon's genius strategy for winning battles but also showing his romantic, toxic love with Josephine. Joaquin Phoenix plays Napoleon and balances a charismatic war genius with an unlikable childlike adult who has tantrums with perfection. Vanessa Kirby steals the show as Empress Josephine and her toxic chemistry with Napoleon is entertaing to watch. On a technical level the look of the movie and visual effects were incredible especially with the war scenes. However, my biggest issue with this movie is the lack of story. It felt like Most of the important scenes are missing-- things just happen without any detail or build up. the Stortylines is confusing at times. Despite two great performances by the lead actors this was a huge disapointment for me. In my Opinion, Ridley Scott has lost his magic I am giving "Napoleon" a 3.5/5 stars.
