Movie Review:

“No Hard Feelings” is directed by Gene Stupnitsky, and it is the new raunchy romantic comedy starring Jennifer Lawrence. This comedy balances crude humor with some emotional moments that make this one of the best rom-coms I have seen in a while. Jennifer Lawrence plays Maddie an immature 32-year-old trying to save her mother’s house, and she is hilarious as this likable character who makes inappropriate and dated humor work. Andrew Barth Feldman plays Percy a shy 19-year-old who is so different from Maddie. But their chemistry on screen is contagious and it’s fun to watch their relationship grow into something real. The supporting cast of Natalie Morales, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Scott MacArthur and Kyle Mooney added some humorous scenes with Jennifer Lawrence. Matthew Broderick plays Laird (Percy’s rich and awkward dad) who doesn’t have much to do in the movie, but his comedic timing proves him worth seeing. There are some problems with this movie. Some of the scenes get crazy and are over the top which takes the audience out of the movie. The storyline is predictable from beginning to end. And at times, the crude humor didn’t work, and the dialogue felt forced. Other than that, I liked the movie especially Jennifer Lawrence’s performance. I am giving “No Hard Feelings” 3.5/5 stars.
