Synopsis:

During World War II, Lt. Gen. Leslie Groves Jr. appoints physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer to work on the top-secret Manhattan Project. Oppenheimer and a team of scientists spend years developing and designing the atomic bomb. Their work comes to fruition on July 16, 1945, as they witness the world's first nuclear explosion, forever changing the course of history.

Movie Review:

“Oppenheimer” is directed by Christopher Nolan, and it is a riveting, and exciting story with a powerful message that will stick with you after the movie is over. This film is a master class in directing, acting, writing, editing and cinematography making Christopher Nolan one of the best filmmakers of all time. Cillian Murphy plays J. Robert Oppenheimer (known as the father of the atomic bomb) a fascinating, intelligent, flawed human being who had a complicated view on life and politics. Cillian Murphy is fantastic in this movie as he transforms into a real-life scientist and shows every aspect of why J. Robert Oppenheimer was an important figure in U.S history. Robert Downey Jr. plays Lewis Strauss and steals the show as a senator who tries to take down Oppenheimer. Emily Blunt plays Kitty Oppenheimer’s wife and she has amazing chemistry with Cillian Murphy. Her character sheds some light on their marriage and life together and the role she played on his scientific work. Matt Damon, Florence Pugh, Jack Quaid, Dane DeHanh, Casey Affleck, David Dastmalain, Josh Hartnett, and Gary Oldman all play important roles that helped Oppenheimer build the atomic bomb. Although some had limited screen time, they all had interesting, important scenes that push the story forward. This movie is 3 hours long but it didn’t feel that way because of the fast pacing. This is one of my favorite movies of the year. I am giving “Oppenheimer” 5/5 stars.
