Synopsis: A woman and her overbearing boss become stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash. They must overcome past grievances and work together to survive, but ultimately, it's a battle of wills and wits to make it out alive.

Movie Review:

"Send Help" is directed by Sam Raimi and it's an original horror film that mixes in some satirical comedy. This marks his first R-rated movie in 28 years, featuring a fun premise and outstanding performances from the two leads. The unique style elevates it beyond a typical survival thriller, making it one of the best films of the year so far.

Rachel McAdams stars as Linda Little, an awkward middle-aged woman who feels like an outcast at work. Despite her quirks, her charming and charismatic performance truly makes her shine. When she finds herself stranded on an island, her survival skills kick in, transforming her into a smart, resourceful, and unpredictable character. This might just be her best performance in years.

Dylan O’Brien plays Bradley Preston, the son of a wealthy businessman. He’s rude, an alpha male, and quite annoying, yet his performance is compelling, crazy, and charismatic, making it a joy to watch. The chemistry between these two actors is fantastic, leading me to believe they might end up together, which added an element of unpredictability.

The film isn’t shy about diving into darker themes with its jump scares, gore, and violence, all wrapped in a classic Sam Raimi style. It concludes with a satisfying, epic finale that’s bloody, chaotic, and a lot of fun to watch. Surprisingly, the movie is also much funnier than I expected, with several scenes that had me laughing out loud.

I’m not the biggest Sam Raimi fan, and there were moments when the film felt a bit silly and over-the-top, which pulled me out of the experience. However, the incredible performances, engaging story, and action-packed conclusion make this one of his best films in a decade. I’m giving "Send Help" a solid 4 out of 5 stars.
