Synopsis: A dream holiday turns into a living nightmare when an American couple and their daughter spend the weekend at a British family's idyllic country estate.

Movie Review:

"Directed by James Watkins, "Speak No Evil" is a remake of the 2022 Dutch film of the same name. It follows an American couple and is an enjoyable, disturbing horror movie that brings intense suspense and surprising moments of comedy. The standout in the movie is James McAvoy, who plays Paddy, a charming doctor who also happens to be an unhinged psychopath. McAvoy is great at playing these types of roles and delivers some of the craziest moments that will leave you holding your breath.

Mackenzie Davis, who plays Louise Dalton, the wife of Ben (Scoot McNairy), also delivers a strong performance. She portrays a caring mother who is smart, tough, and has some standout moments that make her one of the best characters in the movie. While I enjoyed McNairy's performance, his character came across as whiny and self-centered, making him frustrating and unlikable at times. The storyline about Ben and Louise's marriage issues was interesting but ultimately didn't go anywhere.

The performances from the children in the movie were also impressive, as they did a great job with the material they were given. The second act did feel a bit slow, but it picked up in the third act, which was crazy, intense, and suspenseful. The ending was changed, making it feel somewhat safe but satisfying.

Overall, "Speak No Evil" is a fun thriller with a menacing performance by James McAvoy. I would give it 3.5/5 stars."
