Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Synopsis: Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves. Crime-fighting in a New York that no longer knows his name, he's devoted himself entirely to protecting his city — a full-time Spider-Man — but as the demands on him intensify, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange new pattern of crimes gives rise to one of the most powerful threats he has ever faced.

Movie Review: 

 "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, marking the 38th film in the MCU and the fourth installment in the Tom Holland series. This film is more mature, emotional, and heartfelt, yet packed with action, reminiscent of how "No Way Home" left us. It presents a grounded, street-level version of Spider-Man that I grew up loving. I absolutely adored this movie. Destin Daniel Cretton masterfully blends action with emotional moments, creating a mature character study of Peter Parker as he juggles being Spider-Man, which is always the highlight of this character. Tom Holland shines in this role, portraying a Spider-Man who is focused on being the web-slinging hero. His witty quips and jokes bring back the classic Spider-Man vibe that I cherish. Zendaya reprises her role as MJ, Peter's former girlfriend, and she is once again fantastic in this film. Even though she doesn't remember Peter, their chemistry remains strong, making their emotional and heartbreaking connection all the more poignant, as they are perfect for each other despite being apart. Jon Bernthal's portrayal of Frank Castle, the Punisher, is another highlight. He plays an unhinged vigilante who shoots first and asks questions later, and his hilarious banter with Spider-Man adds to the film's charm, along with some of the best action scenes. Sadie Sink plays the enigmatic Jean Gray, who serves as the film's antagonist. She steals the show with a compelling motivation for her actions that made me care about her character and excited for her future in the MCU. I also enjoyed Spider-Man's relationship with Detective Jean Dewolff (Liuza Colon-Zayas), which felt like a mother-son dynamic that I found heartwarming. Mark Ruffalo returns as Bruce Banner and the Hulk, and it was great to see him again, especially during an amazing action scene featuring the return of Rage Hulk It's both devastating and dangerous, but honestly, it was amazing to see, even if it was just a big cameo in the film. My only minor complaint is that it felt a bit bloated at the start, but aside from that, this movie is fantastic and definitely one of my favorites this year. I'm giving it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars.
